Suspense’: Trump Refuses To Say He’ll Accept A Loss

The Republican nominee made a  threat to American democracy during the third debate

The final presidential debate was about half over when Donald Trump said perhaps the most shocking line in a debate full of taunts, jeers, and interruptions. Moderator Chris Wallace asked Trump to say he’d accept the results of the 2016 elections — and Trump refused.
“I will look at it at the time,” Donald Trump said, rather than offering an unequivocal yes. The line provoked instant reaction online, in the media, and around the world.
After Fox News moderator Chris Wallace said that it is a hallmark of America’s democracy that the loser concedes to the winner after an election, Trump stayed deliberately vague. “I’ll keep you in suspense,” he said.
Twitter users responded to Trump’s troubling insinuation immediately, with a mixture of concern and humor.
